The name of the chest of drawers is a play on words and meanings. It is at once “exemplary” as the first piece of the new line, “tile-based” through its material, and an “izbushka” through its fairy-tale corporeality. The first S-REDA chest of drawers decorated not with tiles, but with relief ceramic tiles. White monochrome was chosen as a starting point for both conceptual and physical development. The relief ceramic tile brings into the object the cultural code of the Russian stove. The white volume resembles a small stove — an object around which the inner life of a family could gather. The relief scenes on the tiles invite you to look closely, touch them, and read them as small stories. The “chicken” legs, covered with white fringe, turn the chest of drawers into a fairy-tale creature: somewhere between a stove, a hut on chicken legs, and an object of contemporary interior design.
