We continue to “reassemble” Soviet interior memory not as retro, but as living material for a new environment. The facades of the wine cabinets from the “Bold Notes” collection are made in the marquetry technique, familiar from decorative objects of Soviet interiors of the 1970s–1980s: wall panels, boxes, inserts, and furniture. In such objects, wooden mosaic was not simply a decorative technique, but a way to tell a story. “Bold Notes” are almost conversation partners. The fairytale scenes on the facades become part of the perception of wine: they set the mood, shift the optics, and add an image to the taste. To hear the melody of a fairytale is like discerning the notes of wine: it is always engaging and individual.
